Perth

It's time to unscrew. No more equations. No more formulae. No more burden!
It's time to make a trip!

This time, like any other school holidays, my family and I decided to go for a vacation abroad. I have been to a number of countries in Asia. This time is a little different. We are going to Perth!

For Malaysians, Perth is voted as one of the favourite destinations for vacation. Because it is only a 5-hour journey by air. And AirAsia is now offering promotional air tickets which can be so cheap that, like my family did, we booked the air tickets about 9 months in advance and it only costs RM750 round trip per pax.

Perth is in fact a wonderful place. Even as an Ipohan who finds Ipoh one of the best places to live in Malaysia, Perth is totally incomparable.

Basically, Perthites, or Sandgropers as it is known, live in a steady pace. It makes the atmosphere quiet, calm and peaceful.
People in Perth obey rules and follow instructions. A very obvious example is you can hardly find people speeding on the road. Even when there is only a few cars on the road, people do not exceed the speed limit, be it 60 or even 50 km/hr. But if you do, most of the time, they are tourists or some minorities. You don't see this in Malaysia at all. That's why accident rate in Perth is one of the lowest. Of course, the condition of the road also contributes to this. The surface of road, even in suburbs is always in good condition. You don't feel any bumpy. You don't see crack lines or damaged surface like we usually see in most roads in Malaysia. Drive a car with the most basic specs , you feel comfortable enough. You don't have to invest in expensive cars like you do in Malaysia because in Perth, you don't even need a very good absorption spring for your car. Roads are too good in condition.

What is so admirable is the way they accomplish a task. Be it repairing the road, mowing the grass or cleaning ash trays. I like the way they manage things. Perthites are overall very careful, committed people. They do detailed work. Unlike Malaysia, the surface of buildings or roads are always not smooth with a lot of flaws. People do not put in full effort. But in Perth, you can see people doing small things whole-heartedly.

As a first-timer in Perth, I would say that it is very worthwhile to visit Perth. You get educated and inspired by seeing how people in Perth live. It can be said that attitude decides everything.

The next post I would share with you on how I find travelling around WA, that is, Western Australia, including Perth, the Pinnacles desert, Cervantes, Moora  and the list goes on.
